Paul H. Atmajian, M.D. is a 1990 graduate of University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Atmajian did his Internship in Pediatrics through the University of California, San Francisco extension in Fresno. He completed a Residency in Clinical Pathology at Yale New Haven Hospital, a Fellowship in Hematopathology, and a Surgical Pathology Residency at University of California, Davis. Dr. Atmajian had a teaching appointment at Yale University. He currently serves as Director of the Hematology and Coagulation Laboratories of Community Medical Centers, and as Laboratory Director at Selma District Hospital. Dr. Atmajian is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, as well as Hematology (Pathology). Dr. Atmajian has been practicing pathology since 1997, the same year he joined Pathology Associates.

 
Stephen M. Avalos, M.D. is a 1984 graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Avalos had an Internship and Residency in Anatomic Pathology and a Fellowship in Surgical Pathology at Stanford University Hospital. He also completed Clinical Pathology training at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Avalos completed a Fellowship in Forensic Pathology at Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences, Dallas, Texas (Dallas County Medical Examiners Office). This special interest is utilized in his current role as Forensic Pathologist for the Madera County Coroner’s office. He is also Laboratory Director at Sierra Kings Hospital in Reedley. Dr. Avalos carries Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Forensic Pathology. He has been practicing pathology since 1985, and is a founding member of Pathology Associates.

 
Baorong Chen, M.D. is a 1982 graduate of the Sun Yat-sen University of Medicine, where she also earned her Pathology degree in 1986. After relocating to the United States with her husband Dr. Ning Lin, an Ophthalmologist, she completed residency training at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, OH, and at Scott & White Memorial Hospital, Texas A&M. Dr. Chen is Board Certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology, and has served as Staff Pathologist at Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Hospital in Colombia, SC, and also at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Chen as the newest member of Pathology Associates.
Reuben S. Doggett, M.D. is a 1974 graduate of University of California, Los Angeles. He had an Internship in Pathology, (Royal Victoria Hospital) and a Residency in Anatomic Pathology, McGill University Affiliated Hospitals, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He also completed a Clinical Pathology Residency at University of Tennessee. He also did a Fellowship in Surgical Pathology, Hematopathology and Immunopathology at Stanford University Medical Center and a Fellowship in Surgical Pathology at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Doggett holds Medical Licenses in the States of California, Colorado, Tennessee, Nevada, Oklahoma and Utah. Dr. Doggett has held numerous teaching appointments including Assistant Professor and Staff Pathologist at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and Associate Professor and Director of Surgical Pathology in Anatomic Pathology at University of Utah Health Service Center. Dr. Doggett is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Doggett has been practicing pathology since 1975, and joined Pathology Associates in 1997.
 

 
Robert M. Futoran, M.D. is a 1988 graduate of UHS/The Chicago Medical School. Dr. Futoran completed an Anatomical and Clinical Pathology Residency with a Surgical Pathology Fellowship and Residency at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his training with a Cytopathology Fellowship at University of Wisconsin. He is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and also holds subspecialty Board Certification in Cytopathology. Dr. Futoran is currently the Director of Microbiology for Community Medical Centers and Laboratory Director for Madera Community Hospital. Dr. Futoran has been practicing pathology since 1993, and joined Pathology Associates in 1996.
Clarke T. Harding, III, M.D. earned his M.D. at the Temple University School of Medicine and went on to an Internship in Internal Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. His Residency in Pathology was served with the United States Air Force at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Harding is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and also holds subspecialty certification in Cytopathology.

 
Gordon D. Honda, M.D. is a 1988 graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana. He is also a Doctor of Public Health, completed in 1986 at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Public Health. Dr. Honda had an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency and a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at University of California, San Francisco. He was also a Clinical Instructor in Anatomic Pathology at The University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Honda is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Previous appointments include Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Director of Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Fresno, CA. Dr. Honda has been practicing pathology since 1992, and joined Pathology Associates in 2000.

 
William C. Pitts, M.D. is a 1982 graduate of Stanford University Medical School. His Residency and Surgical Pathology Fellowship were also completed at Stanford University. Dr. Pitts served as a Fellow in Surgical Pathology, Acting Clinical Instructor, and Acting Assistant Professor at Stanford University Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Pitts was a visiting Cytopathology Fellow at Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. He is Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology. Dr. Pitts is currently the Director of Anatomic Pathology for Community Medical Centers, Fresno, CA. and Laboratory Director for Urology Associates of Central California and the Fresno Surgery Center. Dr. Pitts has been practicing pathology since 1983, and is a founding member of Pathology Associates.
John S. Pollard, M.D. completed a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago in July, 2005. His residency training in Pathology was at The University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. He is board certified in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He is a native of Houston, and a graduate of the University of Texas Medical School and the University of Houston.

 
David L. Slater, M.D. is a 1983 graduate of The University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Dr. Slater completed his Residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He completed a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Cytopatholgy, and Transfusion Medicine/Blood Banking. Dr. Slater currently serves as Medical Director of the Blood Bank and Transfusion Service Laboratories at Community Medical Centers. He also serves on the Board of the Central California Blood Center. He has been practicing pathology since 1984, and is a founding member of Pathology Associates.
 

 
Michael Weilert, M.D. is a 1976 graduate of The University of Kansas School of Medicine. His Residency was completed at the University of Colorado Medical Center and University of California San Francisco. Dr. Weilert has held positions as Pathologist/Director of Laboratory Information Systems at Wesley Medical Center, Laboratory Information Services Consultant at University of Kansas School of Medicine and Beckman Instruments, as well as consulting Physician at San Francisco Veterans Administration Medical Center. Dr. Weilert is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematology. He is currently Director of Pathology & Clinical Laboratories for Community Medical Centers. Dr. Weilert has been practicing pathology since 1981, and is a founding member of Pathology Associates.
Arthur Zembowicz, M.D., Ph.D. received his MD (1988) and PhD (1992) in Pharmacology from Copernicus Academy of Medicine in Cracow, Poland. He trained in Anatomic Pathology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA and completed the Combined Harvard Dermatopathology Fellowship program. He is Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology. Dr. Zembowicz is an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts and Staff Pathologist in Dermatopathology and Head and Neck Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. His clinical practice includes dermatopathology and head and neck surgical pathology. His clinical research is focused on pigmented lesions, inflammatory dermatoses and oral and eyelid pathology. Dr. Zembowicz has made important contributions to the literature of melanocytic proliferations including nevoid melanoma, amelanotic blue nevi, and pigmented epithelioid melanocytoma. His clinical practice includes second opinion consultations on difficult melanocytic lesions and other areas in dermatopathology. He serves as a Director of Harvard's Dermatopathology Update CME Course and has been asked to teach at national and international venues. Dr. Zembowicz has been a specialty consultant to Pathology Associates since January of 2002.
