Avalos, M.D. is

Baorong Chen,
M.D. is a 1982 graduate
of the Sun Yat-sen University
of Medicine, China, where she
also earned her Pathology
degree in 1986. After
relocating to the United
States with her husband Dr.
Ning Lin, an Ophthalmologist,
she completed pathology
residency training at Mt.
Sinai Hospital in Cleveland,
OH, and at Scott & White
Memorial Hospital, Texas A&M.
Dr. Chen is Board Certified in
Anatomic & Clinical Pathology
and has been practicing
pathology in the US since 1993.
Dr. Chen served as Staff
Pathologist at Wm. Jennings
Bryan Dorn VA Hospital in
Colombia, SC, and also at
Memorial Medical Center in Las
Cruces, NM. She joined the
Pathology Associates in 2003. Dr.
Chen is currently the Director
of Hematology for Community
Medical Centers and Laboratory
Director for Sierra Kings
District hospital. She is also
in charge of the
Immunohistochemistry section of
Sierra Pathology Laboratory and
has special interests in GI

Nikolaj P. Lagwinski, M.D.
Dr. Lagwinski trained at The Cleveland Clinic. He is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with sub-specialty Board Certification in Cytopathology, plus Fellowship training in Gastrointestinal Pathology.
Dr. Lagwinski was born in Denmark and lived there until age ten when his parents moved to North-Eastern Ohio. Before entering Medical School he spent six months abroad, studying Spanish language and culture at the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. He enjoys marksmanship and is an avid soccer fan.

Tricia L. Pua, M.D.
Dr. Pua is a 2006 graduate from Ohio State University, College of Medicine & Public Health, Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Pua did her residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio from 2006 - 2010 followed by fellowship training in Surgical Pathology with a Gynecologic & Breast Concentration at the Cleveland Clinic until June of 2011. Dr. Pua is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She also has her Masters in Business Administration and graduated cum laude. After completing her fellowship in June of 2011, she joined Pathology Associates in August of 2011.
She enjoys playing tennis & volleyball, as well as singing and playing the piano.

M.D. completed a Surgical

University of Chigaco, Il. He is

native of Houston, and a graduate

Artur Zembowicz,
M.D., Ph.D.
received his MD

(1992) in
Pharmacology from
Copernicus Academy
of Medicine in
Cracow, Poland. He

Brigham and Women's
Hospital, Boston, MA
and completed the
Combined Harvard
Dermatopathology
Fellowship program.
He is Board

Anatomic Pathology
and Dermatopathology.
Dr. Zembowicz is an
Assistant Professor
of Pathology at
Harvard Medical
School, Boston,
Massachusetts and
Staff Pathologist in
Dermatopathology and
Head and Neck
Pathology at
Massachusetts
General Hospital and
the Massachusetts
Eye and Ear
Infirmary. His
clinical practice
includes
dermatopathology and
head and neck
surgical pathology.
His clinical
research is focused
on pigmented
lesions,
inflammatory
dermatoses and oral
and eyelid
pathology. Dr.
Zembowicz has made
important
contributions to the
literature of
melanocytic
proliferations
including nevoid
melanoma, amelanotic
blue nevi, and
pigmented
epithelioid
melanocytoma. His
clinical practice
includes second
opinion
consultations on
difficult
melanocytic lesions
and other areas in
dermatopathology. He
serves as a Director
of Harvard's
Dermatopathology
Update CME Course
and has been asked
to teach at national
and international
venues. Dr. Zembowicz
has been a specialty
consultant to
Pathology Associates
since January of
